South Africa's showcase for technological initiative and the measurement of achievements against the best of the best
"The Technology Top 100 Awards are recognised as the premier business excellence awards in South Africa. This celebration of excellence is also a celebration of truly South African innovation."
- Mosibudi Mangena, Minister of Science and Technology.
Technology Top 100 (TT100) is a national programme that acknowledges with fanfare the success that today’s organisations enjoy through their development and use of technology. More importantly, it encourages, measures and honours these organisations for the value their use of technology brings to the South African economy.
Whether they’re small, medium or large businesses, or technology organisations such as science councils and universities, the Technology Top 100 are the enterprises that optimise technology to maximise profits, gain market share, create niche markets and add value for their stakeholders.
Started in 1990, TT100 today has the strong support of both government and the private sector. TT100 is mandated by the DST to celebrate South Africa’s role-models in science and technology. Eskom is the premier corporate partner and additional private sector partners include the South African Academy of Engineering, TBM Communications, and Financial Mail Innovations.
TT100 is a member of the Da Vinci group of companies.
WHY SHOULD I ENTER?
Because TT100:
- recognises the way you use technology and innovation to achieve your objectives;
- gives you an opportunity to benchmark yourself against your peers;
- gives you expert third-party appraisal of your efforts in using and developing technology;
- enables you to broadcast your achievements to the nation; and
- gives you the prestige of being associated with South Africa’s longest running, highly credible business excellence award, recognising technology and innovation.
WHO CAN ENTER?
TT100 is open to all organisations that skilfully manage technology, be it through their products, services and/or processes. Any organisation registered in South Africa is eligible, whether or not generally regarded a technology organisation.
You must be:
- A developer of new technologies; and/or
- An innovative user of existing technology (where you use it in a way that is more sophisticated than ‘everyday’ use), and where you can show how using it has brought your organisation clear and tangible benefits.
TT100 distinguishes between:
- The Established TT100, who have been operating for three years or more, and
- The Emerging TT100, who have been operating for less than three years.
Adjudication processes and the accolades awarded differ accordingly.
The above differentiation is not cast in stone and serves as a guideline. Prospective entrants will be required to indicate which of the two sections of the TT100 Awards they would like to enter.
Please visit the TT100 website ( www.tt100.co.za) for a more detailed description of the emerging and established sections of the TT100 Awards Programme.
WHAT IS THE ENTRY FEE?
