Celebrating South African clean technology innovations

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Buti Manamela, will present the awards at the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme in South Africa (GCIP-SA) ceremony in Sandton on 17 March 2023.

The GCIP-SA is an initiative of the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), an entity of the Department of Science and Innovation.  It is part of a global initiative aimed at promoting clean technology innovation and supporting entrepreneurs to grow their SMMEs and start-ups into viable, investment-ready businesses.

Friday evening's award ceremony will recognise young entrepreneurs who have excelled in the development of sustainable technologies.  The GCIP-SA winner and runners-up will attend the global forum in Vienna, where they will compete with other participating GCIP countries.

The programme offers training, mentoring, showcasing opportunities, access to capital and cash awards to innovators with clean technology innovations.TIA will be hosting the GCIP-SA Awards to recognise and celebrate the 12 finalists whose innovations have made it through the rigorous selection process.
