The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande invites members of the media to the post tabling of the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) Budget Vote media briefing on Tuesday, 17 May 2022.
This briefing is aimed at providing members of the media an opportunity to engage with the Minister and the Deputy Minister following the presentation of the budget vote.
The 2022/23 budget is tabled at a time, when the country and the world is facing huge economic pressures and Innovation aimed at development and increasing competitiveness is no longer a choice but a priority if the local economy is to survive to harsh global economic environment.
During the budget vote, Minister Nzimande will announce DSI major initiatives in support of our country’s Economic Recovery Programme. These includes our responses to Climate Change, to the COVID-19 pandemic and Transformation of the National System of Innovation.
