The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy, the Department of Science and Innovation (through the National Intellectual Property Management Office), the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (Department of Trade, Industry and Competition) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal invite applications to participate in an online summer school on intellectual property and technology transfer.

The programme provides an opportunity to senior students and young professionals to acquire a deeper knowledge of each domain of intellectual property (IP) and of the role and functions of WIPO.

Curriculum

The programme consists of lectures, case studies, simulation exercises and group discussions on selected IP topics, with an orientation towards the interface between IP and other disciplines.

A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the programme requirements.

Eligibility

The summer school is open to senior students (undergraduate and postgraduate) and young professionals from any discipline or field of study. The programme is designed for candidates who are already familiar with IP.
