Memorial Service and Funeral – Late Former Deputy Minister of Safety and Security, Mr Joe Matthews
The memorial service for the late Mr Joe Matthews will be held on Friday, 27 August 2010, at 19:00, at the "The Gardens" Groote Schuur Estate, Rondebosch, Cape Town.
The third South Africa - EU Summit will take place in Brussels on 28 September 2010.
The Summit is annual event which provides an opportunity for South African and European leaders to review at the highest level cooperation under the Strategic Partnership between South Africa and the European Union. In addition to the formal Summit proceedings a number of side events are also being organised to highlight success stories and explore new opportunities for South African – European cooperation.
Political veteran, Joe Matthews, dies
The former Deputy Minister of Safety and Security, Joe Matthews (81), died of natural causes at a hospital in Johannesburg this morning. He will be buried in Cape Town next week.
