National Science Week


National Science Week The National Science Week

This is an annual event held simultaneously in all the nine Provinces during May. The event entails celebration of the importance of science, engineering and technology in people's daily lives. The National Science Week 2006 will take place from 13 to 20 May 2006. The primary objectives of the National Science Week are:
  • to promote of science literacy among youth and general public;
  • to contribute to increased participation and performance in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, particularly targeting disadvantaged communities;
  • to contribute to identification of talent and potential; and
  • to promote of career awareness among youth, parents and educators.
